Bernadeta Mrowca Gangestad, M.A., LPC

Therapist | Polish Speaking

Bernadeta is a proud Polish-American therapist who earned her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Trinity Christian College.  Her motivation and drive was deeply rooted by her own life experiences and the desire to help others understand they are not broken and deserve to protect their peace.  She meets her clients with compassion, empathy and sprinkles in humor as a reminder to find balance in life.

Bernadeta's work as a clinical therapist has spanned the full continuum of care.  Beginning in inpatient treatment, where she spent eight years specializing in eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and self-harm behaviors. In that setting, the primary focus was safety and stabilization, supporting individuals at some of their most critical and vulnerable moments.  Bernadeta also worked in residential treatment, PHP, and IOP settings, supporting clients navigate the transition into lower levels of care.  Having walked alongside many individuals as they stepped down in treatment, Bernadeta is excited to take the opportunity to support clients in an outpatient setting.

Bernadeta recognizes that healing is not a one size fits all approach. Bernadeta draws from a range of evidence-based modalities—including ACT, CBT, DBT, ERP, and FBT—to support both emotional and physical healing, while honoring each person’s unique experiences and path moving forward.

Bernadeta has two favorite quotes:

“I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them” -Andy Bernard (The Office)

Bernadeta gravitates towards this quote as a gentle reminder to practice mindfulness and stay in the present moment.

“No one can make you feel inferior without YOUR consent” -Eleanor Roosevelt. This significant quote is sometimes used in sessions as a gentle reminder to choose how much power is given to others as we navigate our emotions.

In her free time, you can find Bernadeta cheering on her son and his passion for music—whether she's moving props at marching competitions or watching him play a variety of instruments and vocals on stage. She also enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and attending concerts/comedy shows with her loved ones.
