A Founder's Letter to Prospective Clinicians,

I started Peaceful Healing Counseling Services from a deeply personal place—one shaped by both pain and purpose. As a child, I experienced firsthand what happens when systems that were meant to protect fail. Teachers, counselors, and even law enforcement missed opportunities to report and intervene in abuse. That reality has stayed with me, and it became a driving force behind the work I do today.

Peaceful Healing was built on a commitment to protect children, advocate fiercely for their safety, and ensure that no voice goes unheard. Our work is rooted in vigilance, compassion, and accountability—because children deserve adults who act.

At the same time, I recognized another gap in the field: clinicians who are passionate about helping others often struggle to sustain themselves in this work. I wanted to create something different—a space where clinicians are supported, valued, and set up for long-term success. At Peaceful Healing, the business side of private practice is thoughtfully managed so clinicians can focus on what they do best: providing excellent care. We also prioritize sustainability by offering meaningful benefits, including a 401(k), so clinicians can build not just a career, but a future.

This is more than a practice—it’s a mission to protect, to empower, and to create lasting change for both our clients and our clinicians. Our priority will always be the client AND the clinicians who serve them.

If this mission resonates with you, I encourage you to apply to be part of our team.

With love,

Jen Chicoine, M.A., LCPC, C-DBT

What our interns say...

I learned plenty on diagnosing and the treatment of individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, i.e., ASD, ADHD, etc. This was extraordinarily beneficial because my advance collegiate program did cover much on this topic. This was very short-sighted due to the fact there's a growing population of adults and children with this diagnosis. Understanding the characteristics and symptoms of these conditions is very valuable because it'll aid in my counseling approach and determining effective treatment.
